The voice Torch is built around. The Mean 90's strong midrange is not optional — substituting a scooped or warm-voiced pickup removes the reason to build Torch in the first place.

Hotter than the neck but still in the moderate range. The Alnico V magnet gives it clarity and punch without being sharp or thin. Avoid anything over about 14kΩ DC resistance or the Mean 90 starts to feel soft by comparison.

Standard 500k audio taper pot for the volume control on the 5-way Relay voicings (Velvet, Torch, Arc). No switching function is required on the volume side.

The push-pull switch engages the voicing's alternate contour — each 5-way voicing's wiring guide shows exactly what the pull position does.
