Parts

Pick your voicing below and you'll get the complete parts list for that build — the shared body and hardware plus the electronics that voicing needs — so you can order everything in one pass. I only list voicings I've fully speced; the ones still in the lab aren't here yet.

Items marked Specific mean that exact part. Flexible items list a real alternative and the tradeoff.

Body Construction

PET-CF Filament

Specific

Quantity: 2 one-kilogram spools

Amazon
$66.00

Two kilograms of filament are required for a complete body. PET-CF is preferred for ease of use, dimensional stability, and material strength.

Alternative: PET-GF is a valid alternative to PET-CF and may be less expensive. Do not use PLA or standard PETG; they can fail under string tension over time.

G/Flex 650 Epoxy

Specific

Quantity: 1 kit

Amazon
$32.00

A flexible marine-grade epoxy that handles vibration and stress without cracking. One kit has enough epoxy for multiple Relay bodies.

Guitar Hardware

Guitar Neck

Flexible

Quantity: 1

Amazon
$60.00

Necks with identical listed specs can vary meaningfully. Budget time for fitting and check compatibility before ordering.

Alternative: Use a compatible 24.75-inch bolt-on neck that matches the Relay pocket and scale geometry.

Fixed Hardtail Bridge

Specific

Quantity: 1

Amazon
$15.00

The Relay body is designed around a fixed string-through hardtail bridge. Tremolo bridges are not compatible with the current body.

Neck Mounting Ferrules

Specific

Quantity: 1 set

Amazon
$10.00

These press into the back of the body and receive the neck bolts. Install them after confirming neck alignment because they are permanent.

String Ferrule Plate

Flexible

Quantity: 1

Amazon
$10.00

The string ferrules anchor the strings through the back of the body.

Alternative: Individual string ferrules work. The plate is simpler and cleaner for a first build; individual ferrules are cheaper but require careful alignment.

Locking Tuners

Flexible

Quantity: 1 six-in-line set

Amazon
$35.00

Locking tuners make restringing faster and improve tuning stability while the setup is being dialed in.

Alternative: Standard non-locking tuners work if they match the headstock hole diameter.

Strap Buttons

Flexible

Quantity: 1 pair

Amazon
$11.00

Relay uses standard strap button mounting locations.

Alternative: Any standard strap button fits. Strap locks are fine if their mounting screws work with the body.

Guitar Strings, 9-42

Flexible

Quantity: 3 packs

Amazon
$20.00

Three packs are recommended because setup work can sacrifice a string or two.

Alternative: Any 9-42 light gauge strings work. Start with 9s before experimenting with heavier gauges.

Backplate Screws

Flexible

Quantity: 1 set

These secure the rear cavity cover after electronics installation.

Alternative: Use screws that match the printed pilot holes and backplate thickness.

Truss Rod Cover Screws

Flexible

Quantity: 1 set

These secure the truss rod cover on the headstock.

Alternative: Use screws that match the truss rod cover and neck pilot holes.

Knobs

Flexible

Quantity: 1 set

Amazon
$10.00

Knob fit depends on the pots selected for the model.

Alternative: Any knob that fits the selected pot shaft works. Check split-shaft versus solid-shaft fit before buying.

Electronics

Neck Humbucker, GFS Vintage 59 Alnico V

Specific

Quantity: 1

The neck needs to stay open and readable. A soft, dark neck pickup closes down positions 4 and 5 too much and pulls Arc away from its spatial clean behavior.

Middle Humbucker, GFS Dream 180

Specific

Quantity: 1

The defining Arc pickup. It provides the chime and width that make position 3 and the combined positions feel separated instead of thick.

Bridge Filtertron-style, GFS Retrotron Liverpool

Specific

Quantity: 1

Arc wants bridge clarity, not grind. The Liverpool keeps the attack articulate so position 1 stays bright and position 2 remains spacious instead of congested.

Volume Pot, 500k Audio Taper

Flexible

Quantity: 1

Amazon
$8.00

Standard 500k audio taper pot for the volume control on the 5-way Relay voicings (Velvet, Torch, Arc). No switching function is required on the volume side.

Alternative: Any quality 500k audio taper pot works. Check shaft type against your knobs before ordering.

Tone Pot, 500k Push-Pull

Specific

Quantity: 1

Amazon
$12.00

The push-pull switch engages the voicing's alternate contour — each 5-way voicing's wiring guide shows exactly what the pull position does.

Alternative: A standard 500k pot works as a plain tone control, but you lose the pull-engaged contour described in each wiring guide.

Selector Switch, 5-way Blade

Specific

Quantity: 1

Amazon
$10.00

Must be a 5-way blade — do not substitute a 3-way. The middle pickup is a main selector destination on these voicings, and positions 2 and 4 are active combined positions. Verify the listing says 5-way before ordering.

Tone Capacitor

Flexible

Quantity: 1

Amazon
$10.00

The listed value gives a warm but not muddy roll-off for the Relay Lipstick reference circuit.

Alternative: Cap value is a tonal preference. Smaller values cut higher frequencies; larger values cut lower.

Output Jack

Flexible

Quantity: 1

Amazon
$5.00

The listed part is a Switchcraft-style jack that fits the Relay body cavity.

Alternative: Any standard 1/4-inch mono output jack works if it fits the body cavity.

Hookup Wire

Flexible

Quantity: 1 spool or assortment

Amazon
$7.00

Used for control-cavity wiring and ground connections.

Alternative: Any 22-24 AWG stranded hookup wire works. Avoid solid core because it is harder to route and fatigues with vibration.

Copper Foil Tape

Specific

Quantity: 1 roll

Amazon
$9.00

Used to shield the control cavity. Conductive adhesive is required so overlapping pieces maintain electrical continuity.

Fit-sensitive parts still need compatibility checks before purchase — the item notes above call out the constraints that matter. When a dimension or substitution is in doubt, ask in Discord before ordering.
