Parts
Pick your voicing below and you'll get the complete parts list for that build — the shared body and hardware plus the electronics that voicing needs — so you can order everything in one pass. I only list voicings I've fully speced; the ones still in the lab aren't here yet.
Items marked Specific mean that exact part. Flexible items list a real alternative and the tradeoff.
Body Construction
PET-CF Filament
SpecificQuantity: 2 one-kilogram spools
Two kilograms of filament are required for a complete body. PET-CF is preferred for ease of use, dimensional stability, and material strength.
G/Flex 650 Epoxy
SpecificQuantity: 1 kit
A flexible marine-grade epoxy that handles vibration and stress without cracking. One kit has enough epoxy for multiple Relay bodies.
Guitar Hardware
Guitar Neck
FlexibleQuantity: 1
Necks with identical listed specs can vary meaningfully. Budget time for fitting and check compatibility before ordering.
Fixed Hardtail Bridge
SpecificQuantity: 1
The Relay body is designed around a fixed string-through hardtail bridge. Tremolo bridges are not compatible with the current body.
Neck Mounting Ferrules
SpecificQuantity: 1 set
These press into the back of the body and receive the neck bolts. Install them after confirming neck alignment because they are permanent.
String Ferrule Plate
FlexibleQuantity: 1
The string ferrules anchor the strings through the back of the body.
Locking Tuners
FlexibleQuantity: 1 six-in-line set
Locking tuners make restringing faster and improve tuning stability while the setup is being dialed in.
Strap Buttons
FlexibleQuantity: 1 pair
Relay uses standard strap button mounting locations.
Guitar Strings, 9-42
FlexibleQuantity: 3 packs
Three packs are recommended because setup work can sacrifice a string or two.
Backplate Screws
FlexibleQuantity: 1 set
These secure the rear cavity cover after electronics installation.
Truss Rod Cover Screws
FlexibleQuantity: 1 set
These secure the truss rod cover on the headstock.
Knobs
FlexibleQuantity: 1 set
Knob fit depends on the pots selected for the model.
Stacked Knob Sets for Concentric Pots
FlexibleQuantity: 2 sets
Concentric pots need stacked knobs: a small upper knob and a larger lower knob for each pot. Reef Plus uses these instead of the standard knob set, so skip the standard knobs. Order one set per pot.
Electronics
Neck and Middle Lipsticks, GFS KPS41 Pro Tube
SpecificQuantity: 2
The lipstick subsystem in Relay Reef and Relay Reef Plus: one in the neck, one in the middle. Each is around 6K. Order two; the price shown is for one.
Bridge Humbucker, GFS KPH65 Vintage 59 Alnico V
SpecificQuantity: 1
Moderate-output bridge humbucker for Relay Lipstick, Relay Reef, and Relay Reef Plus. In Lipstick, high-output pickups overwhelm the lipstick layer. In the Reef models, it is the heavier voice family and should contrast clearly with the lipsticks; a tamer humbucker narrows that contrast.
Concentric Pots, CTS 500k/500k Audio Taper
SpecificQuantity: 2
One concentric pot for the lipstick side and one for the humbucker. Each has a volume deck and a tone deck on separate shafts. Allparts lists EP-4586-000 with a 3/16-inch upper shaft and a 1/4-inch lower shaft. Concentric pots have not been test-fitted in a Relay body yet; check the control-hole size and cavity depth before ordering. Order two; the price shown is for one.
Selector Switch, 3-way Blade (two-pole)
SpecificQuantity: 1
Selects the lipstick side only: neck lipstick, both lipsticks, or middle lipstick. Relay Reef and Relay Reef Plus use both poles so that the two lipstick hots never share a contact. The humbucker does not go through this switch.
Tone Capacitor
FlexibleQuantity: 1 (2 for Reef Plus)
Relay Lipstick, Relay Torch, and Relay Velvet all specify a 22 nF (`0.022 µF`, `223`) master-tone capacitor. Relay Reef Plus needs **two** 22 nF capacitors, one for each side's tone. The Torch Edge Contour also needs a **separate** 2.2 nF (`222`) capacitor and 150 kΩ resistor, wired together as shown in its wiring guide. Do not use the 2.2 nF contour capacitor in place of the 22 nF tone capacitor.
Output Jack
FlexibleQuantity: 1
The listed part is a Switchcraft-style jack that fits the Relay body cavity.
Hookup Wire
FlexibleQuantity: 1 spool or assortment
Used for control-cavity wiring and ground connections.
Copper Foil Tape
SpecificQuantity: 1 roll
Used to shield the control cavity. Conductive adhesive is required so overlapping pieces maintain electrical continuity.
Fit-sensitive parts still need compatibility checks before purchase — the item notes above call out the constraints that matter. When a dimension or substitution is in doubt, ask in Discord before ordering.
