Relay Lipstick is the demonstration instrument for the K7RHY serialized-record system. Its core is intentionally straightforward: two complementary humbuckers, a familiar three-way selector, and conventional master volume and tone controls. The two switching functions extend that foundation rather than replacing it.
Pull the volume control to bring the middle lipstick pickup into any selector position. The added pickup opens the top end and introduces a more dimensional, percussive character—especially useful for clean arpeggios, layered rhythm parts, and touch-sensitive edge-of-breakup sounds. Press the tone control to engage the focused contour whenever the instrument needs a more compact footprint or a stronger midrange presence.
The result is a guitar that can stay simple on stage and become surprisingly expansive when a song asks for another color.
